Project
Description: |
JARING
is currently occupying Telekom Malaysia
exchanges for their networking equipment and has been
requested to vacant the space before the year 2004. Therefore
JARING planned for the setting up of new premises, known as
JARING’s nodes, to locate all its networking equipment at
strategic locations throughout the country. This new proposed
premises will serve as JARING’s neutral point-of- presence
(POP) and will provide choice of telecommunication provider
for JARING’s Internet subscribers. JARING also planned to
offer data center services in this neutral POP to leverage on
the facilities and available bandwidth to generate revenues.
For
this purpose, JARING planned to have new JARING nodes at
Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kuantan and Johor Bahru, Melaka, Alor
Setar, Ipoh, Seremban, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu. The project will
involve of provision of basic infrastructure facilities i.e.
renovation works and reliable and secured power utility/supply
for its networking equipment.
